MEET THE NEIGHBOURS
The O2 Arena
Just ten minutes on the Jubilee line from Stratford is the O2 Arena. The 20,000-seat, multi-purpose venue on the banks of the Thames has become the natural home for everything from huge concerts, sports events and New Year celebrations to bungee-jumping, ice skating and everything in between.
Number 90 Bar & Kitchen
This spacious canal-side bar and restaurant is something of an institution. From its hand-crafted wooden décor and highly regarded menu to its imaginative cocktail list and perpetually packed terrace, it’s not hard to see why
The Copper Box Arena
Right in the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is one of London’s most flexible indoor venues. If the Olympic-level gym and fitness facilities aren’t your thing, chances are one of the netball, badminton or gymnastics events might be. Failing that, there’s always the endless exhibitions, conferences, award shows and parties to choose from.
The Yard Theatre
The Yard is a fringe theatre and music venue constructed entirely out of salvaged materials in a converted warehouse. The 110-seat venue is an award-winning, profit-sharing, highly regarded local gem that turns traditional theatre on its head
This independent exhibition, event, performance and studio space in neighbouring Hackney Wick epitomises the area’s inclusive arts scene. The café & bar, complete with canal-side terrace, reinvests all its profits into running the venue – making that speciality grade coffee taste even better.
The Elephants Head
Dating back to the 1890s, The Elephant’s Head has been restored to its former glory. Pull back the thick velvet curtain to discover an authentic Victorian tavern that joins the dots between the modern gastropub and the old-school East End.
Designed by Anish Kapoor for the 2012 London Olympic Games, the ArcelorMittal Orbit is the UK’s tallest sculpture and world’s longest tunnel slide. Nestled between the Aquatics Centre and London Stadium, the striking structure contains enough steel to make 265 London buses.
Chisenhale Art Gallery
A hidden gem in the heart of the East End, Chisenhale Art Space is one of London’s most innovative forums for contemporary art and performance. Founded by an art collective in the early 80s, the former factory has a rich heritage of unearthing new talent and is home to a gallery, production agency, research centre and 40 artist studios.
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
Larger than Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens combined, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is an enormous cultural sweet spot in the heart of the city. 560 acres of parkland, waterways, wildlife and cycle trails play host to contemporary architecture, technology, sport and retail facilities.
The MSG Sphere
Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp wants to transform a site in the heart of Stratford, East London, into MSG Sphere – a state-of-the-art music and entertainment venue that will pioneer the next generation of immersive experiences, and create unforgettable moments for fans from the UK and around the world.

Building on UCL’s progressive history, positive impact and disruptive spirit, UCL East is the university campus of the future. We are bringing together UCL academics, students, local communities and industry to solve the biggest challenges affecting people’s lives and the planet – today and into the future.
V&A East Project
The V&A East project will create two interconnected sites in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London – a brand-new museum at Stratford Waterfront, and a new collection and research centre at Here East.
BBC Media Centre
The new site will incorporate state of the art music recording and rehearsal studios and will provide a purpose-built base for the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and the BBC Singers, as well as being used regularly by the BBC Concert Orchestra.
